Le White slam selon MOURALY VENOU

Just before giving the "always good advices of Mouraly Venou", i want to say that it's a great Honor for me, that Mouraly was the first to write in the advice column "The White Slam according to..." Those who have played or trained with him know what they owe their improvement in playing carrom to Mouraly (me first). The player know after the break if the slam is possible or very hard. Obviously you have to pocket the easy coins and then anticipate how to pocket the next coin. For example, one may use "direct" stroke to open the other white coins. Often we use a "bomb" or a "cut" to pull up the coins near the strike zone. Sometimes we need to pocket a black coin. It happens to me : the queen was on the exact middle of the game, but a black coin fills up the hole where I wanted to confirm with a white coin (just 10 centimenters behind the black coin). It was a dificult situation. So I used a "cross double" to pocket the Queen and then the black coin in the same shot, so that I may have confirmed the queen with a white coin. I coped with this stroke and I was pleased. I had the idea to film a black slam, but at this time, i didn't play a lot. But now, my children are beginning to play with me. " Ceux qui ont joué avec lui, et ceux qui se sont entraînés avec lui savent ce qu'ils lui doivent dans leur pratique du carrom (moi, le premier) et c'est donc avec un oeil alerte qu'ils liront ses conseils : " Tout d’abord il faut une bonne casse, pas forcément trois pions rentrés, un ou deux suffisent. Le joueur peut juger tout de suite, s’il est possible ou non de faire le slam. Bien entendu, il faut mettre tous les pions faciles et calculer comment on peut rentrer le prochain pion. Par exemple, en se servant d’un « direct », on peut envoyer le striker au milieu pour ouvrir le jeu. Bien souvent on se sert d’ une « bombe » ou d’un « cut » pour ramener vers soi des pions difficiles. Parfois, on est obligé de rentrer un pion de l’adversaire : çela m’est arrivé une fois, la reine était au milieu mais un noir placé devant le trou bouchait l’angle pour confirmer avec le blanc (situé à 10 centimètres derrière le noir). C’’était difficile comme situation, alors j’ai utilisé un « cross double » pour rentrer la reine et ensuite le pion noir, pour pouvoir ensuite confirmer la reine. J’ai réussi ce coup et j’étais très content. J’avais eu l’idée de filmer un Black slam avant Pierre, je lui avais d’ailleurs dit de se filmer, je ne sais pas s’il s’en souvient, mais je suis très content qu’il l’ait fait. Comme je n’avais pas un bon carrom à l’époque je ne m’entraînais pas beaucoup aujourd’hui j’ai un bon carrom, en plus mes enfants commencent à jouer avec moi. Je profiterai de cette occasion pour filmer un black slam avec eux. "
